Nutmeg is a spice made from the seed of the tree Myristica fFagrant, a native Indonesian evergreen tree that is the source of two popular spices: nutmeg and mace. Nutmeg is the inner seed, while mace is the red, lace-like substance that covers the seed.
Nutmeg has a warm spicy aroma and flavour and can be used in both savoury or sweet dishes. It is traditionally used with potato dishes as well as in soups, sauces and baked goods.
Keep in a dry, sealed container to maintain freshness.
